Best simple cycling app for Android

I have been "cycling" through the multiple app for my Note 5 to help track distance, Cal, speed etc.
Something reliable & basic will suffice

Can't choose between

Map my ride
Endomondo
Runtastic
Strava
Google fit

Any recommendations?

Try them all and see which one you like best?

I use Map My Ride. Been using it for over 5,000km. It works and is pretty simple! Plus the UA Record community is pretty nice.

OK I'll check it out.

Any of them would be good for guesstimates. I used to use My Tracks from Google, but they pulled the plug on it :(

Might look into https://play.google.com/store/apps/d....android&hl=en

That's a new one. Gorgeous interface, thanks

What's a good app for finding bike trails in my area?

https://www.openstreetmap.org

... Has a dedicated cycling layer showing trails, paths and bicycle friendly/designated roads. Its much better than google's cycling layer in my city, significantly more complete and accurate.

I've discovered and linked up some really nice 30-40km routes in my city with out ever having to hit any kind of major roadway.

Runtastic is the only app that I've tried out of 4 or 5 that has the OSM map layer. Fortunately, I also found that I liked Runtastic's features and interface much better than all of the others too. I use the "road bike" version, but you can use any of the versions, (standard, mountain bike), they all seem to be exactly the same to me just with a different colour interface.

Cheers

I'm using Strava now - started using it when the municipal government subscribed to the Strava data service - I want my trail use captured. It's very easy to use, interfaces Bluetooth Low Energy or Ant+ (assuming your device supports - not sure on Note 5 specs)

I've used RunnerUp in the past, and still would for running, as for me the key functionality is interface with my training log on RunningAhead

I like Strava best.

Do any of them track Unicycling specifically? I use Endomondo, and set it for "Other" when I put miles on the unicycle.

Strava.

I'm a Strava user. It's nice to pull up others' rides and generate a route based on their routes. And then crush a KOM (someday...)

I use Strava and Map My Ride. I liked Map My Ride when it first came out but not so much anymore. You have to get the premium version to see all the cool stuff. I like Strava and I also have Garmin Express with my Vivioactive. The only reason I still have Map My Ride is because I have a lot of runs/rides that I need to transfer to Strava but can't unless I get the premium version.
