Adamo Saddles
After surgery 4 months ago I am still unable to ride my Brooks B17 comfortably ( it was very comfortable pre operation ) . I am considering the Adamo PR 1.0 saddle ( noseless ) . I'm just wondering if anyone with experience on any of the Adamo saddles has any opinion as to it's comfort ? The use I put my saddle to is touring entailing several hours each day .

I found it to be a pretty aggressive saddle. For me it works best when in the drops. But I also found it to be wider than I like towards the front. I thought the Cobb Plus was better. That however is just me and saddles are like that. I don't know where the problem area is for you but for me it was a perineum issue. Saddles that work for me are the Cobb Plus, Selle Anatomica, Selle SMP and the Selle Gel flow max. The cut out was a life saver. I would imagine a Brooks Imperial might work as well, haven't tried one however.

I just tried an Adamo Prologue and it was very uncomfortable for me. It was better when you are in the drops but that is the only way I could get any comfort. The nose is just too wide for me.

You didn't say what kind of surgery. I like my Selle Anatomica X series. I've ridden on saddle with a cutout for over a decade.

I have an Adamo Century and an Adamo Typhoon. They are the most comfortable saddles I have ever owned. I have always preferred a little padding and could never use a Brooks. The Century has more and is more comfortable to me. Adamo dealers do have rental programs where you can try one out for a while.

Again, get one sit on it , I have a different back side than you. .. maybe a Noseless , 2 separate pad under just the sit bones, will do until your surgery heals up.
I cannot project over the web. Touting what I like is pretty meaningless since popularity with others wont be good for you, necessarily.
sit on more saddles.

It was Prostate surgery , removed due to cancer .
Funny enough, I have used the Selle Anatomica for several hundred miles pre surgery , and found for me it was uncomfortable . My difficulty is my Perineum , it's very uncomfortable when ridding anything other than my recumbent . I look forward to returning to my Surly LHT soon .

I'm also a prostate cancer survivor and have been riding on an ISM Prologue for 4 years. I have tried several saddles before purchasing the Prologue, including a Brooks B17, and will not switch to anything else at this point. BTW, of all the saddles I was trying out before buying the Prologue, the B17 was one of the worst saddles Ive ridden on. No matter what I did to it, I could never get comfortable on that saddle vs the Prologue which was love at first sit. However, ISM saddles are not for everyone. If you don't get them set up correctly or don't sit on them correctly, they will be extremely uncomfortable saddles. Also, if you have wide sit bones, you may find that ISM saddles are not for you, but I wouldn't give up the chance in trying one.

As one other said as well it worked best in the drops and not bad on the hoods. But if it were set up for the drops it was pretty uncomfortable up on the flats. In other words it had a narrow comfort zone that worked best in an almost TT or Tri bike stance. But I like narrow saddles so that may have just been me.

Thanks, I very likely will go the ISM route, and I'll let everyone know how it works out if I do .

LET'S ROLL
I tried the PN1.1. The back part feels comfy; but I also found the nose too wide -

I also tried the Brooks Team Pro(same shape as the B17; just thicker leather);
it's ok but not comfortable enough for me on longer rides.

I think I really need a cut out/deep center channel. I'm back to Selle Italia with a cut out.

I have an Adamo Typhoon on my MTB and a Prologue on one of my Hybrids, I love them both. I got the Prologue as a factory second off Ebay last year, a row of stitches got off and left tiny needle holes in it which I could only see if I put my face right up to it. Since my face isn't going to be what's next to it........
I was fine with it. They DO take some getting used to though, don't try to position yourself on it like a regular saddle, the "nose" isn't really the nose at all, it is the equivalent of the center on a conventional saddle. You just have to mentally adjust to the unconventional seating position. I kept trying to use it like a conventional saddle at first, once I adjusted I really started to like it. So much so I bought a second one.

Murray Missile, so you have had no chaffing issue with the front portion of the saddle, that is what seems to be the biggest issue with most of the reviews I've found on line .

I haven't but everybody is built a little different, YMMV. Remember, you sit on the front part of the Adamo, not the rear. What I got from their website is that the rear section is there to maintain a minimum length for racing. There is a definite adjustment period, the riding position goes against everything you perceive to be correct. I suspect those experiencing chafing may have been trying to ride it like a conventional saddle, maybe not.

I forgot to mention I normally ride in blue jeans or cargo pants too. Haven't worn Lycra in years.

Excellent news, jeans are my idea of cycling attire . I look forward to just grabbing my bike for a ride . Hope it works. I did a fair amount of research ( as is possible on line ) . I called ISM several times as well ( possibly driving Dave at ISM to distraction ) ultimately taking the plunge .

I will add that I ride an ISM Adamo Attack on my road bike, it is similar to the PN 1.0. I need a narrow and nearly pad free saddle. I will say that I would not be riding an upright bike without this saddle. I also have Typhoon on my fat bike, I find the extra padding finds its way into areas that are uncomfortable for me. I am currently looking for another NOS Attack since they renamed their line. Good luck to you, pain in that region is terrible.
