Wireless Bike Computer Interference?
 

I was going to buy a couple of Cateye wireless bike computers for my wife and I. Is there any danger of the signals interfering with each other when we ride together??

Not sure if they'll interfere with each other, but wireless comps will pickup interference from other things. I'm almost regretting buying a wireless comp now.

In my book on the cc-100w it says the sensors half to be within 70cm so if you where 70cm apart maybe u wont have the problem... I never had a prob with mine yet its pretty acurate and i evan drove under max high voltage lines...

Generally 60-70cm is the range, so there shouldn't be any problems. As far as interference, I clocked something like 78km on my wireless once, which was a bit suspect for a mountain bike on a flat city street.

My first bike computer was wireless, since then I've made sure every computer I install is wired. When I ride the bike with the wireless computer to work, it gets interference whenever I ride through the security gates. Suddenly my speed increases by 5-10mph for a few seconds. Not enough to throw off the distance/odometers, but it does screw with the max speed...

I also find the wireless sensors to be big and bulky, while the wired ones are small and easy to deal with. Then there is the issue of having to replace batteries every so often.

The only downside to a wired setup is the wire itself, but I've found that to be much less of a problem than I'd initially feared. A few zip ties gets it out of the way, and I haven't ripped a wire yet....
