Frame Number Help!

Hello,

I bought, what was sold as a SIMPLON, triathlon bike with 650C wheels. Now, it appears that it's actually a CUBE. Shimano components are 105 with year code U (1996?) and month J and L.

Does anyone know which manufacturer frame number "SR" is? The serial number is SR + 7 number digits.
I'm thinking that (as CUBE was only a couple years old back then) they used a different manufacturer's frame.

Thanks for your assistance.
