The 2017 bicycle centennial coming up.
Baron Karl von Drais built the first 'proto-bicycle', the Laufsmaschine, 'Draisine', or 'Dandy Horse', in 1817, so 2017 is or can be considered the 200th anniversary of this machine. :-)

Baron von Drais, a German, called his machine the Laufsmaschine, or running machine, and he probably coined the word velocipede. The other two names are French and English.
I prefer draisine, but don't know if there's a Spanish equivalent. ...
I thought I'd post this at this time as a new threat in case anyone might want to commemorate this bicentennial.
