Back on 2 wheels! And a Q...
 

Well, it's been a while since I've ridden (3 years since I sold my last mountain bike), but my fiancee' and I finally loosened the wallet up and bought an 04 Trek 1200 (for her) and a 05 Trek 1500 (for me). :D We'll use them to supplement our 25-30 mile running weeks as we get ready for our August 13 wedding.

Now I just need to figure out what else I need...wireless computer, extra tubes, helmet (of course)...I'm too excited to think straight!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to catching up on everything in bicycling I've missed! :)

You don't need a wireless, comp, or any comp at all. I'd stock one extra tube per bike, a patch kit per bike, some basic tools, and at least one saddle bag (wedge) to keep some road supplies in. Also, a nice frame or mini pump is always nice...

Comp not really necessary, however a pump/tube/small folding tool will be.

Unless you like to be stranded in the middle of nowhere. Cell phone if you must.

Computer's just one of those things I like to have - I'm a geek on stuff like that (distance, cadence, miles to date, etc.) - keeps me motivated somehow. Got the small folding tool, gotta get a small bag and pump/tube I guess. Thanks!

Great, you're on the right track. If I may, I'd recommend the Zefal HPX frame pump, but if you want something smaller (lighter), look at Blackburn and Topeak. People rave about the Topeak Road Morph. Check out Jandd and Pedro's bags, and make sure your mini tool has tire irons. If not, buy at least two. And, let me stress again...PATCH KIT! Enjoy the new ride, buddy!
