Embarrassing
 

I was climbing up Tantalus today - it's a 5 mile steep climb, though I was only going as far as the park (2.5 miles). My double crank makes it pretty tough for me.

Anyway, I crawling up the hill, typically going about 5.4 mph in my lowest gear when I look in my eyeglass mirror - and there is this guy running not too far behind me! He wasn't there a while before so I'm thinking he came out from one of the homes. But the next time I look, I see he is gaining!

He got closer and closer, but finally he turned around when within just a couple yards of catching me, after maybe a mile of climbing. Definitely didn't make me feel too good!

Well, heck, I bet I went back down the hill faster than he did!
