thoughts about an All City SpaceHorse

Hi Im kinda new to this fourm, so I'll introduce myself in this thread. My name is Ethan, Im 25, i Live in northern VA, and Im currently working as a bike builder at Spokes Etc, Ive worked for Powers Bike Shop in the past, aswell as working at walmart as a bike builder for 3 years. I love BMX and old vintage bikes, But I like how modern bikes work. I Love Chromoly, im okay with aluminum, and so-so with carbon... Im a heavier rider 250+ and shorter at 5'5"

So, I've been using a beater bike I got for cheap at walmart when I worked there, A Hyper Spinfusion, surprisingly its not broken yet however Ive been wanting to change out for something nicer. something with vintage styling, modern parts, a steel frame, with mounts for things and stuff, that would fit well. I've looked at Surly and Salsa, and their nice Surly Cross check is my other option however I think the All City Spacehorse hits all the marks, I want to use it as my general do everything go anywhere bike that i'd have still when im 80 years old and it'll still ride. I've of course looked into waterford, Gunnar, and SOMA, and Rivendell sadly I cant afford those on my paycheck...

So basically what im asking is what does this community think of the space horse? will it do what I want to do on it?

And if anybody has any experiance with it, I'd especially like to hear from you and what you think about it. All City is a brand i had never heard of until i started working at Spokes.
I understand BMX frame geometry like the back of my hand, but when it comes to road bikes, I know nothing So any input would be helpful youtube has not been very helpful with reviews on this bike, which i suppose means not many people are aware of them which does appeal to me, especially if i'd be the only one in town who has a space horse.

The fact that you can use 42c tires is very impressive. With a steel frame and fork that would give a very nice ride. Good luck

I absolutely love my Space Horse and it is not the only All City bike I have. Plus they just released Space Horse disc. If it fits and you can get shop discount - go for it, complete or build up from frame

hey thanks for the reply! I'd probably fit the disc since their coming with the 650b option but i just dont like the paint on it. im liking the panel style the regular has. but we'll see its paint when it comes out... its something else to think about, personally I like the british racing green over the silver, black would have been nicer especially with a cream panels. would you mind trying to describe how yours rides? and another thing I was wondering about is if theirs any kind of weight limit on the bike itself.

I have Blue one (old style with rim brakes and panels).
Not aware of any weight limit, stock wheels were pretty stout as well. I'd say email All City and ask them.

Hard to describe as experience would be very individual (load, distance, tire pressure, kind of road, etc). All I can say I feel great on it even after full day rides, it tracks nicely (straight and surefooted) and you can gun it if you really want it.
I actually gave mine away to my wife as I was shopping for new frame earlier this year and was hoping Space Horse disc would be out. But it was not so I bought AWOL. Don't really regret not waiting as AWOL is quite nice too and I dont think I like new style paint job and colors (on Space Horse disc)
