What are the most common bike ISSUES/PROBLEMS you have?
|
ok, so i'm new to road cycling, only 3 weeks, but my biggest issue is flat tires. 3 weeks of riding 3 flats. none my fault other than one where i rode through some dirt / gravel that might have helped on that one. i'm changing out the stock tires for some conti 400011 or whatever they are.

#1. Flat tires.
#2. Weak engine. ;) #3. Not enough time to ride. Four more years until retirement. |
I buy one, ride it for a while, then I want another one. I ride it, and I find another, and another, and ....
|
not enough time
|
My grandson and I did tech support for a big cross state ride in the middle 90's.
The most common technical issue, as you might expect, was flat tires. The second most common problem was broken spokes. I suspect that's less common than it was then but I think it's still probably a fairly common issue. The third most common problem was trashed bottom brackets. Since that time I suspect that sealed cartridge bottom brackets have greatly reduced that occurrence. |
Flats, spokes, chains, derailleurs, seat posts.
|
Biggest issue by far is that people on bike forums don't realize that I know everything.
Second biggest problem is that they notice when I am wrong. No issues with bikes. |
not enough money to upgrade the bike properly
|
people who can't follow the forum rules and want to use the forum to promote their businesses, it really cuts into my riding time. OP, please see your other thread. Closing

#3. Not enough time to ride. You mentioned 4 years until retirement. I've been retired since 2009. We now live in the "retirement" community in Florida but now there are always doctor appts or social obligations getting in the way. :o |
