17 mile out and back. Out against a 22 mph headwind, but it was 85 degrees F this afternoon. Two days ago we had a freeze and very light snow in the early morning!

I dont do much climbing in the DFW area but recently with the weeks of 20+ mph winds, my legs have been extra sore every day.
Also the wind effects are especially challenging when hitting from sides and also forces me to stay low when off the saddle which is not my normal stomping style. Air quality and airborne debris also take an effect on lungs and eyes. Would much rather be climbing some real hills
My 200 mile week goals have taken a hit

There are several grades in the area that reach 15-20+% ramps that are better suited for shorter rides at least for me.

Cool but after about a week of showers, hail and wind, it was gorgeous today. About 15.5 and 700 gain. I admit that I used my Pixel's Magic Eraser to remove a bump on the log (person) and two benches with people!

23 miles yesterday.
Today we had brief moments of sleet and then cold rain. We went to the rec center and I did a total of 55 minutes on a spin bike and another hour in circuit training on the weight machines.

Out for a 24 miles mixed surface ride today. Large size gravel is rough with the 32mm tires. But that’s as wide as I can go. Dirt and roots work so this may see them C&O Canal in the future.

"How Far" is the worst measure of cycling for a cyclist. Riding for a certain amount of time is far more important than distance, and "How Fun" is most important of all. So-called "bikers" make a deal out of "how far" too, so they can pigeon-hole those they meet into some sort of hierarchy. I used to race when I was young and one of the reasons I quit was all anyone ever cared to say to you at most races most of the time was "how fast" or "how far". So now I just go for fun.

P.S. I am not too far from your philosophy. If you scan up, you will notice my last few posts omit distance and stats but I just chose to omit them. In so doing I did not criticize people like you did calling them, “so-called “bikers””. If people want to proudly compare their stats, so be it. I am not the god of Bike Forum, are you?
