Today, 35.5 and about 1,770 feet. Two bridges and an island. A gray, very gray day and about 62F. So compared with what some of you are contending with - a good day, I guess.

What were you wearing?
Nah, you did a more extensive "loop" including the loop at Seward (Seward's Folly - Alaska purchase which the Russians want back) Park. I should note that Mercer Island is a somewhat bucolic tree lined loop with swooping curves and some nice hills. And a lot of Volvo's in the old days. Probably more Tesla's now! Years ago, on the loop of Mercer Island there were a bunch of kids picketing Paul Allen's house since he was buying an island in the San Juan Islands that had their camp!

Did post-grad work in Eugene; home of the ‘70s Volvo wagon resplendent with Grateful Dead stickers.

A friend lived on the same road as Paul Allen in the west side. When driving there, you'd pass a sign on a small bridge "Under video surveillance" since you were pass Allen's estate. Which brings me to the question I asked my friends. "I thought this area was zoned for Single Family homes. What's with the apartment complex two doors away" Answer: "It is Paul Allen's HOUSE" Seriously it ranged up and over the hill and was this sprawling THING!

I rode 41 miles today but didn't touch Mercer Island like some of you did. Sometimes I ride across the island but I don't think the local Mercer Island screening committee allow my type to venture off the I-90 trail onto their hallowed roads!

Utter nonsense. I lived in Redmond for 6 years and the gracious people of Mercer Island were more than happy to escort me off the island without stopping.

Got out for 28 miles today. Rain in the forecast tomorrow so don't know if I'll be able to ride or not.

With my father having a skin cancer scare last year, I'm taking the ferocious summer sun a lot more seriously this year and covering up as much as I can (especially arms, ears, and neck).

Excellent idea. I had a melanoma removed from inside forearm just below the elbow last year. It was the "contained" type fortunately. I wear long sleeve jerseys all the time but they are probably not really sun-protective.

15.5 and 800 feet on my gray day loop.
Here's the same picture of folks enjoying low tide. We had a record low tide the other day and this was a followup. One photo as seen and one edited on the phone with Google's Pixel Magic Eraser tool.

Today was a leisurely 25 or so miles. That puts me just over 600 for June. I think I am going to take the next 2 days off the bikes, to get chores done to clear me for the last 10 days of the month. Then a push to hit 1000 miles for June. which would be only the 2nd 1000 mile month I have had, ever. That will put me at 2300 on July 1st, giving me 6 months to get 2700 more for the 5000 mile mark. I have been playing catch up after being mostly inactive the first 4 months of the year, due to acute prostatitis. I am a bit surprised at how quickly I have regained my cycling conditioning.

66 miles, 1,585 feet of elevation. Long gravel loop around the bay over mixed surfaces. Almost constant headwinds over on the east side of the Bay....just for a bit more character building.

Not too hot today (30 degrees), mostly because it was cloudy.. I decided to try setting my tires to the pressure recommended for total loaded weight and tire size that the online pressure calculator suggested (60psi) instead of max pressure (85psi) that I previously ran, and it was a great decision. Much smoother than running at max pressure, and still my best ever average speed (29.8km/h) over this distance.
