Truck Box Bike Rack Suggestions
I am looking for a bike rack that goes in the truck box. Needs to hold 4 bikes.
Any suggestions on the best one? Worst one? Does anyone have experience with these? We don't want to ruin all of our nice bikes with something crappy. Something similar to this is what we are looking for
Thanks for your input!

We looked at that idea, but would like to be able to keep some storage space easily accessible from opening the tailgate. It's tough hauling 4 bikes and gear for 4 on a long trip.

We have a camper that we tow as well so can't use the hitch. It's a toy hauler so putting a rack on the camper isn't sensible either for getting in and out the back ramp.

What about fork mounts on a 2x4, or just bolted to the back bed rail near the cab? That would leave the tail gate side of the bed more open.

You can try something like this. It's a homemade job but works beautifully. This one is for three bikes or 1 bike and a recumbent trike (thus the offset) but you can certainly modify it to hold four bikes. This one cost me less than $25.00 and an hour of my time to build. I used #6x3/4 sheet metal screws instead of glue so that if any part cracks it would be very easy to fix or modify further, if need be. I also put some pipe insulation over the PVC to cushion the spokes.
