Is it a standard Shimano/SRAM compatible freehub? What doesn't fit?

Hey, its a campagnolo ultra-drive 8 speed, made out of aluminium so contemporary versions are too narrow.

From what i understand, you cant find a conversion kit for these, unless i file down a contemporary campy freehub sprocket? but then it will just dig into the aluminium right?

i really dont want to build this wheel up from a new hub nor sell it on. is there anything else i can do?
