Anyone get anything cool for Christmas?
Besides me, that is? I got a jersey with my alma mater's logo, and a pair of cable pullers in the stocking!
A bottle of prickly pear hot sauce. No bueno.
I got a trainer and a Camelbak-type hydration pack.
Just bed linen, towels and wash rags, but I needed those and asked.
The leftovers were cool too. I get myself the really big stuff. |
Bike related, a sweet lined Castelli long-sleeve pro-fit jersey, a pair of quick link pliers (so I can stop attacking my chains with a pair of needlenose,) and a Tektro bleed kit if I should get up the gumption to try bleeding my HY/RDs. Oh, and in the stocking, like a 24-pack of 2032s. For whatever reason, my Stages has started devouring them lately. I'm getting like 40 hours per cell, down from 60-70 hours.
Nothing bike related. I got a Jet bench top oscillating spindle sander, and some shop supplies.
Nothing cycling related :(
I got myself some jerseys but they're still somewhere in the postal system lol. |
Shimano XT brake rotors, Tioga Powerstud 6 barends, glueless tube repair kit, frame saver cable sleeves, two new bidons and a bunch of gels and sports drink mix sachets. Plus a nice bag of espresso blend. The perfect haul, largely due to a detailed list.
Bought myself a specialized tarmac SL Pro 😅
Three new jerseys. Also my wife got me a Spot so she can stop worrying that I have crashed and am outside of cell reception.

A Leatherman Tread; basically a heavy piece of jewelry that had a bunch of tools. My wife thought it would be a great 'multi-tool' but I have my doubts. My daughter gave me a zippered leather pouch that holds the contents of my wallet and my phone and will fit in the back pocket of my jersy.
You learn something every day. I now know what a bidon is (water bottle for those who have to look it up - no judgement) and what Spot is (I don't ride far enough to get out of cell reception, but I now have a goal). I received a new pair of bib shorts and cool (temperature not style) weather gloves.
I got Bontrager shoe covers, and a windproof jacket. My toes are happy!
A Shimano Deore drivetrain package from Ribble.
A first aid kit for the truck, so I can wrap myself up before I come home bloody and battered after my next crash. |

A b17 imperial and a bottle of quiet man single malt............
I ordered and wrapped the brooks. |
Park Tool PCS-10 Work Stand (thank you Wife) and a Portland Design Works 3Wrencho.
Another first aid kit here. And a 64 SA AW hub for me to practice my mechanical skills on. Oh, and some Phil's Tenacious Oil.
I got a Martin D28 guitar from my wife. On our vacation last fall, I told my wife I wanted a new guitar, though I didn't think she would get me one. I ordered a Gibson ES-175 without her knowing about it, so she ordered the Martin. Now I am playing both, and enjoying them very much.
Built up the final pieces for my BMC- alloy DT rims with R45s...my new favorite hubs and in Turquoise. Ordered a Vortex Smart trainer, a laptop stand, and some a boot/glove dryer. Oh, and an Assos and Castello pair of bib shorts.
I got a cold. Is that cool or what?

I got a 1989 Litespeed titanium mountain bike frame in great condition.
I got a healthy amount of gift cards :)
My sister gave me a Lumos helmet. A helmet so sophisticated, you need an iOS application to program it. Not the helmet part but the integrated lights.
