Bike related, that is. I played Santa to the tune of a Motobecane Fantom Trail 29er for my stepson, and a Ghost Lanao 4 for his wife. Both of those are hardtail mtbs. I heard somewhere that it's better to give, than to buy another bike for yourself, and they didn't have any bikes.

I got my kid a BMX bike. (Now N+1=3 for him, bmx, mtn, road). I got iPad minis for the other two kids, but I don't think they like them. (Hard to guess what is popular with 17 to 19 year olds. These aren't.)

I bought my grand-daughter a floor pump with a built-in gauge for her birthday in November. She has a 26" old-fashioned women's cruiser-style, single speed, step-through with coaster brakes. She also has a driver's license so her rides are now fewer and farther between.

got my father a set of dt swiss r23 disc wheels for the gravel bike that was just a bit to big for me that i gave him a few months ago ( specialized diverge sport. aluminum with sora group). Should lose 1.5 lbs with wheels and discs!

I have three kids so each got a new bike this year. For my older two kids this meant a first year on full size bikes with gears. My youngest made the step up to 20".

In this case its certainly better to give. Yesterday I was able to load up the bike carrier and we all went for a bike ride together. It's great to do those group rides with them while they are still young enough to want to spend time with the father.

Now if I can just get my wife to transition from spin class to actual bicycle...

Bought and installed a quill stem extender for relative's bike so their back wouldn't hurt.

Black cork handlebar tape, and an Amazon card which transformed into a roll of SP41 cable housing and a Vuelta Corsa compact crankset.

Also better headlights all around, and a hi-viz jersey for my wife. Not very "cool" I know, but needed practical gifts.

i bought myself an Atomic Beam flashlight and a RoadID ID. My family gave me a couple of Amazon cards, some base layer clothes, a nice outer shirt, and plenty of home made fudge, etc. Gonna be fat and jittery for a while!

Needed and practical gifts to others are the "coolest" gifts. You are right-on-target, Mr Hamilton.

My sister and I got each other GoPro Hero 5's so we could take better photos of our annual cross country ride.

No, we didn't know until Christmas that we'd gotten each other the same gift

Santa [ahem] gave my girlfriends daughter one of these for Xmas..

She hasn't gotten off of her training wheels, yet, but the hope is that this will entice her to try (she gets frustrated and quits just before she gets there...)

None of us gave anything bicycling related this year. Well, my wife gave a pair of wool cycling socks to me. So...

My wife gave me some high visibility winter overshoes. I'm not sure if that counts as "cool" or not, but they are nice and warm!

I tore down a 1991 Bianchi Advantage hybrid mixte, had the frame and fork powder coated, and built it up with a Velo Orange Tourist bar as an upright bike for my younger daughter.

...now we'll just have to wait a few months to ride it.

Got my son a star wars bike. He moved from a 12" to a 16" and is much more comfy, and way faster lol We've been riding nearly everyday since Christmas. Its been a pretty warm week around the 50s, even a day of 64 degrees
