Tip on new Garmin Edge bike computers

If you got a new Garmin Edge lately or for Christmas, you cant update the maps. Get in touch with Garmin and they will send you a larger capacity chip. The 8 gig chip they come with wont hold all the new map updates.

Some models have SIM card slots for map storage, newer versions rely on internal memory. In general, the maps don't take a lot of memory for an entire North America map set, so having a SIM card doesn't seem to matter.

As well most folks just install the Open Street Maps, which are free and work great, so no need to pay for Garmin maps.
