TREK Marlin 7 2015 Model

I would want get some feedback from the experts on the TREK Marlin 7 frame. My frame is punched ALPHA GOLD and they advertise it as ALPHA SILVER. Is it a Alpha Gold or were it an mistake factory fault. I did bough it in late November 2014 as an 2015 model registered as 2015 model were just imported to South Africa at that time. Hope to hear from the experts soon and would be glad if it is an Gold Frame.

If I'm not mistaken, the Gold vs Silver aluminum is traditionally how Trek differentiates the Marlin line from the X-Caliber line. That's at least the case in 2015. The frames are (as far as I can tell) visually indistinguishable. It seems more likely that a Marlin frame could end up with the wrong decal tubing decal applied, than an X-Cal frame could be misrouted in the factory, painted in Marlin 7 colors, and then still end up with the right tubing decal on it in the end.

Trek had some models specific to certain markets, but poking around on the dealer portal, I'm not finding any evidence that they had different versions of the same bike intended for different markets.
