Photo of you in a bike magazine?

Every month bicycle magazines publish photos that include images of thousands of riders. Odds are that if you have been riding for any length of time, if you are not the subject you got into at least the background of a bicycle magazine photo, and of course you still have a copy.

So post it.

We're making this up as we go along. There are no "rules." Also, so far, no pix either.

Fair enough. My ride this summer to raise money for cancer awareness landed a bit of news coverage. I have most of the papers I found my story in but this is my favorite since it's the area my dads ashes were scattered in. Only one I framed.

My ride was Portland, Oregon to Portland, Maine; not Potsdam, Maine as the line below my photo indicates.

Not a cycling magazine, but when I was operating a bike shop, I made the cover of a local weekly magazine when they ran a story about my shop.

Interesting read. Sounds like they were just in the idea stage for the bonded aluminum frame when that was written.

I appear quite frequently in the Checkpoint magazine.

Helps that I write articles for it from time to time.

I've also had an article about my cycling adventures appear in a city newspaper and, on a smaller scale, in a workplace publication.

For example, I'm in this Checkpoint from a number of years ago:

And this one from even more years ago:

No magazines, but I've been in local papers a few times. Here's one from last year. I'm on the dual-big wheel recumbent.

This is one of numerous articles, and not even my favorite one, but it's the one that most accurately fits the criteria in the original post: Cyclists Build a 40-Foot Snow Tunnel in Boston | Bicycling

Also, I'm not the one pictured in the green jacket, or clearly seen in the video...I had the camera on my handlebar and am the one mentioned by name in the article.

More than thirty years of cycling and the local newspaper is the best that I can do.

In Bicycling magazine probably never happen, since I ride recumbents. They are embarrassed by how fast they are.

Back to rational thought and posts,

I made the November 2012 issue of Road Bike Action, in the "Why We Ride" pages, first section, with a picture of me beside my bicycle. They asked for details about my disabilities and kidney disease, and told me they wanted to use my story.

No way to post a link to it I am aware of though. someone here read the article and posted a thread congratulating me. Highlight of my day, and not on a 'bent thank goodness

Bill
