FYI those are mechanical disk brakes. Are the pads lined up correctly to contact the rotor? How old are the brakes? Have you adjusted for cable stretch? Are the pads worn down? Just some ideas.

I would say if you need to ask those questions then you would be better off taking it to your local shop and have them take a look. If some thing needs adjustment then you should watch them and see what they do.

As TRD said, you should ask your tech questions in the "Bicycle Mechanics" thread.

Absolutely nothing wrong with 2nd, or 43rd hand bikes. The pads won't actually be aligned per say, if you take the wheel off you should be able to see if there is a greyish metallic looking pad, or METAL, if it's metal well then it's time for new pads. As far as cable stretch, cables stretch over time. You sometimes have to adjust the cables to compensate for this. From where you stand I'd suggest taking the bike into a LBS and having them do a routine tune up on it.

Hi,

i took of the front wheel to check if the disc pads are worn out however, the disk pads have alot life in them left then stll have 2-3mm of grip of them, however one thing i did realize when i open the front disc brake was that one of the pads wobbles abit, could this be causing the problem

sorry in the title it says "sqeezes alot" however i ment sqeaks alot
