Bike rack for Toyota Highlander, Will Sarris Bones Work? Need Help!

Our old 05 Highlander is destined to become our son's car. So were looking at 2008 to 2012 Toyota Highlanders. I'm concerned about my Sarris Bones or our Rhodes rack. Both use a strap that hangs onto the top of the rear door. On our 05, no problem, the strap goes under the rear spoiler and hangs onto the door frame at the top. I just looked at the newer Highlander. There's a plastic or fiberglass spoiler attached to the top of the rear door glass. I don't see how either of these bike racks will work. Has anyone used a bike rack on these Highlanders or a Lexus RX330/350? If yes, how did you deal with the straps that hang onto the top of the rear door?
Any help really appreciated.

I used my Bones on a new RAV4 with the same spoiler concern. Used it a lot and never had a problem with the top straps being too much load for the spoiler. I was able to still get the top hooks to still hook into the metal hatch so it probably deflected the spoiler when cinched down but again, no issues on the RAV4.

Thanks, this is what I'm looking for.
If someone used a bones on a 08 to 13 Highlander, I'd really like to hear from them as well what their experience was.

an "over the top" style rack is good for this application. the weight of the bikes sits on the back bumper. there are 2 other supports that rest against the vehicle & or rear window. the high top bars have the straps that bypass the spoiler completely

I got this one preowned on CL

I forget my brand but looks like Hollywood makes one for your car

Install a hitch. You'll be glad you did.

I went hitch mount also. The ones I have installed were very DIY friendly. I have a thing about hanging items from the painted surfaces of my vehicles.
