:twitchy::twitchy:I've been thinking about the title to this thread. The words, "tell-tale" and "blast" really don't fit together. In order for the blast to be "tell-tale" it would have to be barely loud enough to hear. Am I overthinking this? Have I had too much coffee? WHERE ARE MY MEDS!?:twitchy::twitchy:

Last summer I was sitting at my desk and a CX MTB tire and tube blew up. The tire had a 2" gash in the center. 24 hours since I'd ridden, and months since I'd touched the tube. Fortunately, that kind of thing doesn't happen that often.

Definitely the case with me, as well. The tube was sliced longitudely about 8" long. No chance for repair. Oh, well. I had another tube, but this one was on me, no question. I messed up the build and the result was spectacular.

Anyway, took the bike out for about 19 tonight and all is well. And the GP 4000s tires are a huge improvement over the stock Specialized Turbo Pro. I went fat, too. 700x28.

Just installed a pair of those Wednesday in the 25 width (which seem fatter) will take out the bike tomorrow to wring them out. What do you think of their rolling resistance? Didn't explode a tube in the process, so somewhat off topic..

They're my standard "summer" tires. The rolling resistance for these tires is low. I've ridden a few different brands, but feel that these are the best all-around tires on the market.
