Should I use a chain tensioner with my Rohloff on a Surly Ogre?

Why add needless complexity? If you know how to walk the wheel back to tension it, a tensioner is redundant in the worst way... Literally adding no benefit.

No, the adjustment is in the sliders in the frame. Some cut small dowels and insert between bolt and frame so as to keep adjustment from moving. Like a shim.
