Fuji Sportif 2.5

I've been riding for a few months on my GT Zum. It is a very sturdy all around bike. However, I've been looking to get an entry level road bike as I would like to start doing some longer rides on the road. My LBS suggested an endurance bike and gave me a good deal on a Fuji Sportif 2.5. I got fitted and they ordered one. I am purchasing it with the offer of a return if I don't like it or it doesn't fit. I also looked at the Giant Defy which was a very nice bike, but a little more than I wanted to spend.

Do you have a Sportif 2.5? If so, what is the good the bad and ugly on this bike?

It's a standard entry level road bike. Fuji has been selling that frame for many years now, and the drivetrain and brake parts are ubiquitous and inexpensive (as bikes go). It's not going to have the big squishy tires your GT does, so avoid potholes. Learn how to fix flat tires, then go ride your new bike and don't think too hard about it

I noticed it can fit fenders so larger tires than a flat out road bike will fit. And mount points for a rear rack. My own bike will fit a rear rack for hauling groceries and books and even gear for light touring. i like that my bike is so useful for these general errands as well as for club rides. I think you will love it.

If you have a Performance Bikes close enough to you and don't mind going with the 2016 version, you can get this bike for only $419.

Fuji Sportif 2.5 Road Bike - 2016

If you like the blue color of the 2017 better and still have a PB near you, they are selling this bike for $539.

Thanks, I do have a store near me. For a few extra scheckles, I get the bike fitted by an expert, my seat and accessories transferred, new pedals, water bottle & cage with free tune-ups as long as I own the bike from my LBS.
