How do you post pics nowadays?
Hello all,
I was going to post up a different question here, complete with pics and all, but it looks like I have to post make pics online then get the URL to the pics. And that is called progress**********? Back in the good old days we used to be able to load up a pic or two from our computers, or whatever you are using.
Please enter the URL of your image:
WTF?!?!?!?!?!?
Any help here would be GREATLY appreciated.

Yep. That's the way it is. I think they disabled the ability to upload pix to the forum a couple of years ago. Now you have to post it online somewhere.

The problem with uploading pics to the forum is it requires others to be logged in to view them.
Granted, that's THEIR problem and not YOUR problem, but since the topic came up, I thought I'd mention that, since so often I have to stop and log in (AGAIN) to see someone's photos.
This is a first-world problem, I know.

open a free imgur account, you don't need to input very much info to activate it. then just put the url in after you click the square icon

It was suppose to be;
Go to the paper clip and follow uploading from there. Not go to the "Go Advanced" button.
Thanks everyone for helping me out here. Really appreciate the help provided.

The only problem with uploading to the site is that it now cuts down the size (both physical and file) quite a bit, unless there is some trick around that. I do agree the old site was easier.

Umm...in IE 11 you have to be LOGGED OUT to view them without resorting to clicking on links to open them in a new window.
Unless you have some alt. browser and a phone it's backwards now.

Meh - I've had a photobucket account for forever. It's never been a problem. I think I got a few promotional emails at first, which I unsubscribed, and that's been it.

Under 100kb, it posts the picture unaltered. With JPG images, it is possible to play around with the image compression to reduce the storage size of the image while maintaining a fairly large viewing size.
