Yep, exactly what I was thinking. Zoot shorts are awesome.

They are great at the gym, under running shorts for trail runs and I even wear them under very light running shorts to cut the grass.

I wore one pair threadbare and had to retire them. Lasted almost a decade.

Only you can answer that question. Try them both and decide. I used to like just bib shorts, but after a while I just buy whatever I think is a good deal.

You wear a jersey with your bibs? It's more stylish and convenient to go without.

Not when you're 215#, with most of that planted solely in the front midsection.

I wear a jersey for the riding pleasure of everyone around me

(but to be fair, my bibs are for cold weather riding, I just figured the bib portion was analogous regardless of the length of the bottoms)

True, not that I would know.

Bibs w/o jersey look definitely gay to me (NTTAWT).

Most of the ex-cons I know wear bibs without a jersey. (Obviously, that's after they ditch their jumpsuits.)

I had some bibs. The straps started shredding and I sewed them back a couple of times before I disposed of them. I now have two nice Aero Tech shorts that I prefer over bibs regardless of the benefits others may have experienced.

I did my research on here and went straight to bibs. I have zero regrets.

Bibs have no waistband to chafe and no possibility of sliding down. The chamois stays in place. 'nuff said.

I chuckle when I see the occasional noob wearing a cycling jersey UNDER bibs.

Although rare, bibs could prevent "crack is wack" ,with loose fitting shorts.

I got a pair of bibs and don't like them. I have the beer gut going but never had a problem with a decent pair of regular shorts staying in place--which is very odd, as regular non-bike shorts always like to migrate downward. But not bike shorts. Never had a problem with plumbers cleavage either. So the bibs are relegated to the back of the drawer. Maybe I got the wrong pair. Maybe I'll like them after losing the gut. But for now... don't like.
