Does this even count as a bicycle?

Or tricycle, to be more accurate. It's weird. Weird and cool.

Since it's hand powered, I'm guessing it's more like an awkward wheel chair. Mobility yes; transportation no.

thumpism 06-16-17 05:22 PM

Novelty item in what the toy industry used to call the "Wheel Goods" category.

A new trend in brake-less fixies

BlazingPedals 06-16-17 06:03 PM

If not for the caster, it would be a dicycle since the wheels are not in line (in tandem) with each other.

thumpism 06-16-17 06:36 PM

Since it has the caster it more accurately resembles a folded DaHon.

That looks like a lot of fun, OP! When I was a kid, my cousin had a Sit-N-Spin ....same idea, but it was made of cheesy plastic. I LOVED that thing! I wish I had one now! (I'll take the metal one in the pic....steel is real!)

As adults, our only real option is to get a zero-turn mower.... After mowing the grass, you can just spin around in circles for a while and go "WEEEeeee!!!!!". (I'm actually in the market for a zero-turn....seriously!)

EDIT: What my cuz had musta been called something else...I just looked up Sit-N-Spin, and it wasn't it!

Edit #2: Ha! Found it!- like this!:

It was called either a Crazy Car, Crazy Wheels, Whiz Wheel, Krazy Kar, or Turn-N-Go.

The Quiet One 06-17-17 04:50 PM

My cousins had one when we were kids. It was really cool. You wouldn't believe how fast you could get it spinning in circles. That's the best cheap high when you're 6 years old.

Growing up, I never had a Sit-N-Spin, but a friend of mine did. I loved the thing, even though I got sick pretty much every time I gave it a go.

:)

The sit and spin of my generation was a disk with a round handle up the middle which you straddled, much like a "teacup" ride. I can only imagine some kid must have broken wrists or some other injury on the previous? design.

Damn kids! Why do they get to have all the good stuff? All us adults have ever gotten to take with us from childhood, are bicycles. I say it's time we come out of the toy closet and demand equal rights!

We should be able to drive down the street and point and say :"Look! There's my lawyer spinning in his driveway in his Krazy Kar!".

Looks fun, but I don't think it beats out the "green machine" I had as a kid. Recline, pedal fast, and steers like a tank...it was the best!
