Super Cycle Dollar Store Brand. Any Good???

I am a new biker who wants to get everything I need to start. I have a bike, mini pump, saddle bag, and much more. I need to get a repair kit and wondered if my local dollaramas supercycle brand of repair kit is any good?

When you say "repair kit" what do you mean? A tire patch kit? Ought to be fine. A tool kit? might be suspect.

Dollar store kits work fine.

The ones I have seen (and formerly used) at local dollar stores are just fine. Most include small tire irons, patches, glue, and something to roughen the tube before applying the patch. One store even included a bone wrench in the kit which is useful if you have a bike with nuts holding the wheels on. I'd suggest buying a bottle of Elmer's rubber cement. You can get a 4 oz bottle at Target stores for $1.89. It's the same glue as in the little tubes. Use it at home for gluing patches to the tire. The tiny tubes included in the kit are a one-time-only use where I live because once you puncture the tip, it dries out pretty quickly no matter how tight you put the cap on. If you want a multi-year supply of patches and are willing to use overseas sellers on eBay you can get 48 1" round patches for about a dollar including postage Tyre Tube Cycle 25mm Repair Piece Tool Rubber Patches Bike Tire Puncture | eBay I cut them in quarters for my 700C tubes.

IMO the best tire repair kit I have found is are the REMA kits. They are dependable and work well. I have found that you pretty much get what you pay for with patch kits. What may be saved going the cheap route on patches is offset by the inconvenience and time lost when a patch fails.

REMA TIP TOP - Tube Repair Kits

We had 13 flat tires on this 3,700 mile ride.
