I was gonna guess Intensely Putrid Alcohol - I like a good beer but since no IPA falls into that category...

Topo Chico is probably the best beverage out there, pre ride, mid ride, post ride, no ride... You really cannot go wrong with a nice cold mineral water straight from a spring in Mexico.

Yeah, but seriously, what's your post ride beverage?

Sounds like the beginning of a cholera epidemic.

Ice cold San Pellegrino sparkling mineral water with Montmorency cherry concentrate added. Tastes great, less filling.

Cherry concentrate on ice with water is delicious. Also try it with a teaspoon of ginger juice for a kick.

If it's really warm outside, I prefer a hot drink.
Chinese green tea is ideal.

I really like lemonade in the summer. After a hot evening ride a beer mixed with lemonade. After a hot summer morning ride plain lemonade. I don't know if it has any benefits, but it makes me feel good.

I like a Dead Guy, now and then, but Shiner Bock is my "go to", 'cause I'm a Texan. I always have Coronas on hand, too, if I want something lighter.

If I'm hurting? Powerade Zero Blue and copious amounts of water.

On most of my rides which are far more for recreation than pounding out KOMs? A nice ESB or red ale. Never was a fan of IPAs myself, and generic fizzy lagers just don't have enough body to satisfy me.

" After a hot evening ride a beer mixed with lemonade."

That's a shandy where I come from. Very refreshing.

Much as I love IPA (and of course all those protein shakes and stuff) I tend to go straight for the Schladminger Bio-Zwickl post-ride. It's an Austrian cloudy one. I'm pretty sure it's full of vitamins.

DomaneS5 07-28-17 11:41 AM

A cold beer

I have been dealing with serious leg cramps, especially after workout rides that end towards sundown. I wonder if eating dinner diverts blood away from the muscles, to the gut, and exacerbates the cramping. I hydrate as much as I can on the ride, with NUUN tablets. Today, I'm drinking another water bottle of that mix, before dinner. This will be a test today, as I had a good workout in the hills. If that doesn't work, I'll try a Makers Mark Old Fashioned, with some smoked fish pate.

calyco 07-29-17 10:45 PM

Coffee, apple juice.. or fruits like watermelon and sand pears

Mark42 07-30-17 11:00 AM

I like ice coffee with a generous amount of Ovaltine Malt mixed in.

mixed into cold glass of milk on hot days,
or into a cup of coffee on a cold morning.

The Full Monty 07-31-17 11:56 AM

Coffee or tea. Both iced if it's hot day.

It cured a princess. This isn't mexican tap water but a natural spring.

I've mixed it with milk, banana, peanut butter and ice cubes in the blender, yummy and filling

also, have mixed it in a shaker bottle with just ice cubes and pineapple juice, that's good to, and lighter

Yeah, this stuff rocks the known universe. I'm glad you like it! I put cold, organic, whole milk in mine. The harder your workout, the more your body breathes a big sigh of relief when you drink Energy Shake. Maybe I'll try some diluted fruit juice in it some time. Thanks for checking in.

What's good for me versus what I like to drink then and now.

If at home, a home made recipe smoothie. If out there, most anything.

devianb 08-02-17 03:03 PM

Used to be a Coke, but nowadays I like chocolate milk.
