Best Bike Rack for an Acura TL

Newbie thinking about making the plunge and getting a rack. I've had my bike about 3 months now and have no way to transport to the trails.

Any recommendations on a good rack? I have an Acura TL and would be looking for a rack that could transport several bikes.

Also, do most of you keep your rack on when not transporting your bike? Seem to see a lot of that around here, which was a bit surprising.

Get a pick up truck. Problem solved.

I would install a trailer hitch, then get a good hitch-mounted bike rack. Remove the bike rack when not in use.

As suggested, get a trailer hitch, the racks for those are stronger and more convenient than any of the other systems.

On most of my cars, the base stayed mounted on the hitch and the rack lived in the boot so it was always available. When forced to leave the rack on the hitch, a simple padlock stops it being stolen (make sure you buy one that takes a padlock).

Although my current car has a trailer hitch, it's also a station wagon and I just throw the bike in the back - quick, easy and secure.
