haha...since they don't actually mark damage to the inside of the car, I'd say it was there to begin with.

Get a can of Goop (the stuff automotive repair professionals use it to clear their hands.) Blot, don't rub. Blot out the goop with warm water and a sponge. Blot, don't rub. Then Frebreze to get the smell of the goop out. $10.00 fix. Let me know how it goes.

Ronsonol lighter fluid. It cleans and then completely evaporates, leaving no smell whatsoever. Amazing stuff.

If you don't mind smell, simple green gets about anything out...I use it on the carpets at home.

Pretty much anything that will remove it will bleach out the fabric. Just wipe it real good and return the car at night. I don't recall ever having them llok at the back seat. They usually just walk around the outside to look for major damage.

See if your hardware store has some stuff called Folex, that stuff's great!
Or, try Simple Green, you'll get a bit of a greenish stain after though, so you'll need to scrub the Simple Green out with some water.
See if your local shoe store has some stuff to clean sneakers with, that should work on a car seat, and people who buy those blingin' sneakers like to keep them clean.

Forget flammable lighter fluid, Simple Green and all the other stuff.....
USE GOOP! Water soluble, non flammable and won't "bleach" anything. Ten years of using it to get grease out of clothing and material, it has NEVER removed the color from anything. (Not saying it never will, but it hasn't yet!)

brake cleaner - found in the automotive sections of ***-mart, etc. Spray some on a cloth then wipe off and repeat if necessary. This takes any kind of grease off of cloth - do not use on leather. Don't worry about the smell, it dissipates quickly.
