Other people in the world...

self centered is very American.

Leave a note.

Can't blame them. I always park my bike at the end of those things, to give some usability to others, but no way do I want my bike in the slots where some kid on a beater BSO is going to toss his bike into mine and trash it. Always fun trying to extract your bike from popular racks like that.
Then again, as that rack has been cut at least once (presumably to steal a bike), I can't imagine using it anyhow. |
Yep, I also park at the ends to use a U lock on the frame. The appeal of that admittedly nasty looking rack is that it is in the basement garage of my building, so the bike is out of sun, rain, and hordes of college students the entire day.
As an aside, why is your Miyata no longer in your sig line? |

Never really fit me the way I wanted, and the new Mazama suited all the roles it filled and then some for now (other than looking retro-cool). It went to a guy who wanted one to match his wife's 610 to start touring, so it is in a happy new home! Going to keep my eyes peeled for a 1000 or a Univega Specialissima (or another proper vintage touring bike, not sport tourer) to take its place. |
I don't see a problem. Plenty of room to lock up.
|
Good to hear it is in a good home! I'm a very recent member of the cult, and just trying to get used to fast road riding. My 610 will never see that rack, that is for sure!

And yes, if you have an indoor rack, that is very nice for your commuter/regular use bikes. I'd suggest following the advice of leaving a polite note, sometimes people just don't realize what they do affects others. |
I'd swap the front wheels, see if they notice.

Those racks suck.
|
The alternative would be to put it properly in the rack and come out to a broken derailleur when it falls over.
|
That rack can fit at least five more bikes. OP only rode one bike to work. I don't see a problem.
What other people do isn't something we can control. Getting upset over it, posting photos of it and commiserating doesn't solve anything. -Tim- |
They left you the entire front side. Very considerate. What are you complaining about?

There's not enough room between the rear of the rack and the wall to lock a bike up any other way, and the front side is empty. I don't know who needs anger management counseling more. This guy or the one upset at Walmart because a kid in China didn't mark the tire size on the box with a Bell tire in it.
|
How'd you think little new bikes were made? "Factories in China"? Yeah, right.
