Hello everyone, I have a gt pantera comp, now what i want to do is either upgrade the wheels or just get a second set of wheel for riding the bike in pavement. i just just want to be able to swap wheels and go, so i need to get a whole new set of wheels, cassette, and not sure what else, so i was thinking on using the factory wheels for pavement and do an upgrade for my off-road. not sure how much i can spend, but thinking around $400, without tires. here are the specs on my bike, feel free to chime in on what else you would upgrade next.

something built around typical Shimano hubs Center Loc is a Shimano patent, disc brake interface.

All terra is a name made up somewhere..

"Center lock" says Shimano hub to me but they might not be.

Since you want to just swap wheels and go, it's important to match your existing hubs as perfectly as you can. It's possible to match your cassette and disc alignment but you might find that you need to do make some fine adjustments.

Good luck!

Ok. I think it's more than I thought. Ok so can I Mene my current wheels run faster, or run more smoothly, it's there a better bearing I can use, or can new wheel spin better? Also I have the maxxis high rollers 2, is this a good tire to have if you want speed? Thanks guys.

This is the digital age. If something can be measured, there will always be a winner and a loser. Sometimes, however, the loser is so close that it really doesn't make any difference. Wheel bearing drag is one of those cases. If the tires that you are using now have knobs, a smooth tire will make a noticeable amount of difference. Aside from that, you will get the greatest amount of benefit from working on the motor.
