No padding gloves?
 

Any recommendations for 1/2 finger gloves with no padding? Thanks.

Performance Terry gloves have very little padding. I lIke them because of that. I have found lots of gloves with their different gel zones actually cause numbness.

For absolute zero padding, look for some 1/2 finger driving gloves.

Giro Zero, Giro LTZ, Giro LTZ II. I favor the longer cuff on the LTZ II. On my second pair.

Very hard to find gloves without padding. I just want gloves for help with grip from sweating. I bought a couple of pairs of Giro zero 2. Of course if like them and they no longer make them. Dr ISO gave some alternatives.

Nit a place one would think to look for no padding, half-fingered gloves but Home Depot and Lowes have some nice ones. They're work gloves but they are well made and not very expensive.

Inexpensive cotton gloves with rubber dots...cut off the fingers, the whole backside is a cotton nose wiper. Wash 'em 'em a couple of times, then toss 'em. That's what I've been doing. I pad my bars.

I'd like a half-finger version of the Bontrager RXL Thermal full finger gloves I've had for a couple of years. No padding, just a faux-leather palm to minimize wear and protect from road rash (it works, tried it on an impromptu basis). The rest of the material is just wicking poly fabric, also remarkably durable and abrasion resistant. While it's advertised as a cool weather glove it's comfortable year 'round.

Unfortunately their half-finger RXL glove isn't made the same. It uses real leather palm pieces. I'd rather have the faux-leather, which can be washed without problems. And the upper material isn't the same.

Nothing wrong with the RXL Thermal material used on the long finger glove for summer wear, even in Texas -- it breathes well, and basically the entire back of the glove is fine for wiping my face and nose so it doesn't need a special feature.

I may just get a second pair of the long fingered version in a smaller size. I got large the last time, which fits a little loosely but has room to wear a pair of thin ski glove liners for most moderately cold rides.

Weight lifting gloves also work.

look for runners gloves. Good grip, not too thick, has a nice nose side, not rigid & can be washed. I've bought a pair of all black XL that were meant for women, but being all black, no one could tell/know any different. Being XL in woman's selection, there were many in stock & on sale.

I use baseball batting gloves, full fingers. No padding, goat skin palms.

I use Luis Garneau 1 Calory gloves. They have really thin foam padding - feels unpadded to me. I don't like gel. Performance sells them for $14 regular price, $7 sale price.

Ditto, some Garneau gloves. Very thin padding. I'm surprised how well my Garneau summer weight gloves have held up. The thin mesh fabric looks like it would fall apart within a year but the pair I got around June 2016 and wear almost every ride are still holding up, including with regular washing by hand or in the machine.

Almost any glove can become a glove with no padding if you have a stitch ripper. I suggest half-finger crochet gloves, myself.

Rivendell's website even sells them already unpadded. Or, at least they used to--it seems like they aren't ordering them anymore?

If you don't want padding there are actually hundreds and hundreds of fingerless glove options available to you.

No padding on the palm at all, but hard plastic shells over your knuckles. They are designed for military use when you might be running into a concrete building with a rifle and can easily get knocked around and scraped up.

But they are GREAT for my bike commute when I'm often riding on the far right side of the road and random branches can often be sticking out and thwack my hands. These will take a 2 inch wide tree branch at 15 mph in stride.

Or...you can buy literally any glove on the planet that you like and cut the fingers off. That really opens up your selection of materials and styles.
