Soubitez Bottom Bracket Dynamo

The above system produces 6v 3w, and I was wondering what the best combination of bulbs to use with the system would be. I have only just acquired the dynamo and already it has blown the front lamp.

Your help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Graeme

Classic standard is; 2.4w front, 0.6w rear to total a 3w load ...

Still you can blow a bulb if you go really fast (downhill). To avoid it you need some kind of built in limiter.

Long long ago I used a Sanyo bottom bracket generator, which blew out one or two headlamp bulbs. Didn't the technology for those things advance to use of a capacitor (??) or some sort to avoid blow-outs?

You could probably insert just about any electrolytic capacitor to smooth out the flow and protect the bulbs, but I'd be looking into an LED replacement for those incandescent lamps, unless I needed to maintain the original system for some historical reason.
