I'm flying up to Seattle from Sacramento today. First time bringing my bike with, and i'm nervous as can be. It's in a Performance cargo case. it's pretty secure in there, been "packing" it for about 5 days, finding the perfect position for anyhting in tehre I'm worried that some inspector man will open it, take everything out, and just shove it back in Hopefully that wont happen though. For Southwest (at least in Sac) after you check in, you wheel your luggage to a little section and hand it to the TSA dudes. Hopefully, he will open it right there, inspect it, and maybe I will be able to put it all back togehter

Well i'll post tonight of my experiences when I get into Seattle.

Make sure to vocally let them know you have a bike, and if you can, insist on being there when they inspect it so you can instruct them through the process of correctly repacking the bike. I do that all the time... never had a problem.

What Koffee Brown said. Have fun on your trip up here in Seattle. You got a tour planned?

Well im here and the Sacramento airport was awesome. After I checked in at the SW desk, I had to wheel my luggage over to the TSA inspection place. I gave my case to the guy, and told him it was a bike. He then gave it to the guy who inspects everything. That kind kind of looked at it odd, then wiped the edges to see if their was any chemicales or anything on the edges. He then looked at it again, and turned to me and asked if I wanted to put any locks on it. I had two and gave them to him and he put them on, then wheelel it away. Never opened it! and it was to big to pass through the scanner.

Made my day. No, khuon, just came up to Ft. Lewis to vist my aunt and cousins, and wanted to ride around w/ my 7 year old cousin, and I had to put a little Barbie bike together for my 4 year old cousin, and am now teaching her how to ride

Hopefully the TSA guys at Seattle will be nice

The TSA folks at SEATAC aren't usually a problem. They get to see a LOT of bikes going through... especially this time of year. I imagine many of those have destination tags that read CDG. Seattle is a pretty big cycling town.
