Hosting Pictures
Where is a good place to host pictures nowadays?
Photobucket has gone to crap... they use to be good.. now.. not allowing me to share images the way it use to and too many intrusive advertisements popping up relentlessly

I have an account on Imageshack. Makes it really easy to link to photos on forums and such.

I opened a Flickr account, but it seemed the site was mostly interested in selling you pictures, so I went with Imgur. I haven't moved too much stuff over yet, because I used Photobucket exactly the way they don't allow anymore -- not to store pics but to share them.

My Flickr account works great for daily image hosting usage. I have never noticed them attempting to sell me anything.
My process is to upload images, then link those images into topics. I've never had a problem w Flickr.

I use Flickr, but I believe if someone other than the account holder views an album they see ads every few photos as they advance through the photos. At least that's what someone on BF mentioned when they viewed an album of mine. "Too many ads" was the comment.

I use the link below. You don't have to sign up for an account, it doesn't save pictures or anything which I don't care since I keep them on a thumb drive. You just upload a pic from your computer and it gives you a link to post it on a forum. Works fast.

my usage is never to share albums. I always / only link images into topics, like my original reply. There are never ads.

And, attachments require the viewer to be logged in, which is annoying, in a first-world problem sort of way.

Imgur.
Fast uploads, easy to organise your images into albums, perfect for posting pictures in forum posts. You can also make albums private with pictures accessible within an album only via a direct URL.

I'm with Flickr.
FWIW, Photobucket STILL has not broken my photos! I did not give them any money, but I also haven't logged in to my account since May

The updated Flickr service plans have been announced.
The free plan permits up to 1,000 images to be hosted. Free users with more than 1,000 images will be prohibited from adding additional images and excess images will be deleted, oldest first, starting in January and February.
The Flickr Pro pay service is $50/year with unlimited images, enroll before the end of November for $35/year.

A thousand free images works for me - I only use Flickr for images that I will be sharing online.
