THULE Hitch Mount Bike Rack LOCK
I have a Thule hitch mount bike rack(HITch Mount PRo}. I purchased a lock which secures the unit however if u remove the bolt in the elbow part of the unit a person can remove the entire rack. I am looking for suggestions to secure my bikes. THe bolt that is in there allows the unit to tilt so that i can accesss my tail gate.

How big is the bolt at the hinge? Maybe use a locking hitch pin. I have a Thule 2-Bike Hitching Post and will have the same issue.

I am going to have the bolt that allows the rack to tilt welded. I also was considering drilling a biggger hole for another lock . Do u have the hitch mounted rack? THere should not be a need to have to remove that bolt. Let me know what u think.

Yea, mine is hitch mounted. I see what you are saying. you want to weld the hinge bolt in place. hmmm, interesting idea. I suppose if you ever have a reason to remove it you can saw the bolt easy enough.
Good Luck and post results.
