Where’s Shimano Hydraulic Groupsets**********?

I’ve had a new frame & fork for a few weeks. I’ve been on the internet daily trying to find an Ultegra 11 sp hydraulic groupset with flat mounted brakes. It seems the shifters are in very short supply for both 2017 & 2018 model years. Before I ordered the frame they were plentiful and were a decent price.

I’ve picked up all the other parts here and there and my wheels are being built but groupsets are nonexistent. Except Di2........

Is that typical for this time of year???? I guess any new production is already spoken for by bike companies??

I did a quick search and think you are right. R685 levers appear to be in short supply.

You might find them bundled with flat mount calipers, hoses, fittings and fluid for $450 to $500. This is how I bought 785 levers last march.

Old stock not being made and clearanced...new stock being eaten by OEMs trying to meet demand for floor-inventory.

Unchanging battle. Even the new Di2 bits are not all generally available...then again that isn't surprising, it usually takes 6-12 months post-release for their retail availability.

Yep, OEM production is vastly more important to a mfg than secondary distribution in the supply chain.
