City biking
Do many of you just load your bike to urban areas and do day or 2 rides around different towns and cities. I have done this in NOLA > AUSTIN > SAN ANTONIO > EL PASO > TUSCON plus many many smaller sized towns within a days drive of where ever I am staying ... this is a great way to spend a day or parts of a day and you get to see and feel different places... urban fears aside every town can be an adventure ride

LET'S ROLL
I like to travel, and I like to bike. Anywhere I go; I always try to get my hands on a bike.
Borrowing, renting even buying and leaving the bike. After a while I figured it was just
easier/cheaper if I got a folder(or folders) and brought my own bike on my travels.

My motivation for getting a folder (Bike Friday Pocket Rocket) was that I was taking quite a few business trips to interesting cities and rarely seeing much beyond the insides of meeting rooms and hotels. Having my bike along let me get out either before or after our meetings (and sometimes staying an extra day) to explore the city.

Riding is a great way to see the sights in the city and parks. I ride any chance I get when we travel-- rarely carry bikes-- usually rent or borrow.

When I can convince my wife to.
Latest was the North Shore area of Louisiana. Could't do everything on a bike because of some torrential raining and the fact they closed the Tammany Trace at night (got fussed at by a cop the first night), but we did what we could.
Next up is Fort Worth, and then probably Little Rock.

BTW. you don't mention Corpus despite being so close. It's become a lot more bike friendly as long as you stay away from SPID.

I live in the big city. I like to tour in more rural areas.

I use Citibike to get around NYC when I'm there, but I don't take my bike to other cities to ride.

I wish I had the opportunity get out and do this! I've noticed even around my own town that when riding I'm able to better take in the surroundings as opposed to just blasting through in a car.
