London to Paris Bike Ride

I have recently become interested in a London to Paris bike ride. I have found a number of different tour groups that offer the rides, some of which are fundraiser mechanisms for non-profit organizations. I would probably do this solo (meaning joining a group by myself) and expect that my wife would see me off in London and meet me in Paris. Has anyone participated in one of these rides and, if so, what was your experience?

Link to the event (or one you are thinking about, if you haven't decided on it yet)?

I have done one of those, a supported camping tour through Michigan, there are pros and cons. The biggest trade off is having support and riding with others, but being locked into a fixed schedule.

EDIT: apparently I forgot to mention it sounds like a fun ride to me, pending details of the actual event!

A lot of U.K. randonneurs ride from the U.K. to Paris for Paris-Brest-Paris. It sounds like a fun thing to do. I like riding in that part of France.

You actually get to ride through the "Chunnel" (EuroTunnel)?

The few that I have looked at ferry the riders and bikes from England to France and use the Eurostar on the return from Paris.

You can do that ride yourself. I've never been on a group ride, but itseems , from what i've heard, that they are self contained. You interact with other members of the ride, not with the people who live in the region. There's no language problem in England, and you can get by in France with only rudimentary French.

No, but, You can use the Chunnel , closer in, via St Pancras railway station, London, without the added effort to get to the Ferry Port , of Dover..

https://www.eurotunnel.com/uk/home/ ...-> https://www.eurotunnel.com/uk/travel...cles/bicycles/

In the UK the pick-up/drop-off point for cyclists is at the Holiday Inn Express Folkestone - Channel Tunnel. 08:00 and 15:30*

In France the pick-up/drop-off point for cyclists is Ciffco, Boulevard de l'Europe, 62904 Coquelles. 12:30 and 18:00
Those actually there can find out if you have to book the bikes across the channel separately, at Folkestone..

or if there is a way to put them in the auto loading cars.

I think the Paris-Brest-Paris event is out of my league and desire!

Rather than 90 hours max, do it in a week instead?
