Who wants a McBike?

https://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,159799,00.html

McDonald's Corp. will begin selling skateboards and bikes bearing the fast-food company's brand in a new effort to get kids to burn off burgers and fries with exercise.

"Would you like fries with that?"

How easy is it to fit through the drive-thru window?

And the biggest question of all: Does it come with a carbon fiber bottle cage big enough to fit the supersized extra value 85 fl. oz. Coke?

Next it will be the tabacco companies selling bikes with their brand to help overcome the harmful effects of smoking. Then the major car companies will equip every new car with a bike to use when you end up stuck in a traffic jam on the freeway.

McDonalds just needs to quit selling crappy food!

That wouldn't be new. Remember the 1996 Volkswagen Special Edition Trek Jetta?

Lets see, double 1/4 pounder w/Cheese, Supersize Frys, Shake = appx 1800 calories, via McDonalds Nutrition Info.

Cycling 15-16 mph burns appx 700 calories per hour

So that should fuel me for about 2 1/2 hours of riding. Of course, if I ate all of that and then went riding, I doubt that I'd hold it long enought to derive much nutritional value from it. <grin>

There was a short lived Team Malboro back in the early Ninety's. Headtube was painted like a pack of Malboro reds.

Don't forgot the Ford Focus with the Kona package. Finally got to see one up close. Instead of having the stock smooth side trim, it has a knobby pattern on it. Guy said it was a fully rigid Kona that he got with the car.

McD's going to start selling small, medium, large, and camelback beverage sizes? And are they going to bring back the styrofoam burger containers and market them as helmets?

Yes. And cyclists will be paid a bounty for rounding up stray pets.

McDonald's isn't all that cheap anymore in the grand scheme of fast-food.

Or to hook kids on their brand as early as possible? Or to make it appear to the parents that McDonald's is actually concerned with what we do when we're not consuming their junk? Do we REALLY think McDonald's truly gives a flip about our kids' health? But I digress...

Do they mean for McBike owners to buy at the drive-thru also? How about McSkateboarders?

I'm sure there is a lot of truth to that. McDonald's cares about the money, not our health. The only reason they started selling these new salads is because they got sued because some guy got fat eating their food. Duh! What planet was he from?

I'm sure that the quality of these McBikes will be McCrappy. Will probably be sold at Wally World along with the rest of the McCrappy bikes.

True. Check out their nutrition info. Some of those salads with dressing (like someone WON'T eat it with dressing) have more fat than a quarter pounder. We're obese, we have high cholesterol, and We're Lovin' It!!!

Hmmm... and here I thought I was the only one who liked naked salads or possibly I'm just being too lazy to pour the dressing on. Actually the latter is really the truth if the salad dressing is in a plastic packet. I'm too lazy to bother with it and worried I'd make a mess anyways. Sometimes I like dressing on salads but other times I just like them bare. BTW, I haven't yet tried the McDonald's salad but I have eaten plenty of pre-packaged salads from the delis at plenty of airports. Sometimes I feel like Tom Hank's character in The Terminal.

On the surface, that seems almost logical - but anytime I succomb to McDonalds, I become completely depleted of energy and feel like I need a nap. Then I get hungry again within a couple hours and have to find something REAL to eat.
