Bicycle shoes for large feet?

I am looking for shoes with cleats for large feet but have a hard time finding any.
I need US size 15 which is equal to EU size 50. I also have wide feet.
Does anyone know who makes bicycle shoes that size?

Louis Garneau Slate goes up to EU50, and the Shimano ME3 goes all the way up to EU52-- both around $120. Sidi has most of their shoes available in "mega," meaning extra wide, and in sizes up to EU52 depending on model.

But if you're looking for road shoes (SL cleats) I dunno.

Thanks. These are some good leads.

Doesn't Sidi make some "volume" shoes for wider and larger feet?

Some Bontraegers have larger sizes as well, although I can't say about 15, I have 14s.

Sidis go up at least that large, but my American size 13 foot fits a size 49 Sidi. (Be ready to do a return if you experience similar sizing.)

+1 If you're a size 15 in a dress shoe, you'd be a size 16 in an athletic shoe.. and then do the conversion to EU sizing from your athletic shoe size.

I'm clearly a neophyte, so out of curiosity checked out Lake. One shoe model is $500+, really, for shoes?

Sidi claims the Mega are 4 mm wider across the ball of the foot and have a slightly higher instep and heel cup than their non-mega shoes. Sidi Mega shoes go up to size 52.

Lake claims their widest shoes are 15 mm wider across the ball of the foot. I'm skeptical because 15 mm is a lot.

Performance has the Genius Fit Mega 50, 51 and 52 in stock for $249. Free shipping to the store and if they don't fit then you just return them at the register.
SIDI Genius Fit Carbon Mega Road Shoes - Performance Bike
Backcountry has Genius Fit Mega size 48, 49 and 50 in stock also for $249. My gearhead Kyle gave me $30 just for asking. If you call and order through one of their gearheads they will provide a free UPS label for return shipping if needed.

Backcountry is actually great. They ship me several sizes to try on only charge me for what I keep. They always provide free UPS shipping labels for returns on the rest.

I wear A wide shoe in about A 45 wide fits the best.
Sidi mega-Getting old, still in good shape. But bought the
Shimano R088 wide on sale at Ebay when they went on sale.I think this model also has regular size.

Just ordered A pair of Lake CX161 Wide Road Shoes yesterday from Nashbar returns for A great price.
So I'll have them in A few weeks to try on.

Nashbar has some wide Lakes and very good return policy if shopping online.

$10K for a bike is out of my league as well. Probably good for a death warrant by my wife's standards though. Just sayin.

I picked up a pair of size 50 at the Garneau outlet store. I am usually a 49, but they felt good and were inexpensive.

You may be stuck with MTB shoes instead of road shoes.
Last time I looked (some years back) all the 'road' shoes for cleats were cut extremely narrow. Even shoes that were 2 sizes too big for me--and obviously way too long--were still too narrow. And they cost $150 - $200 - $250+ as well.

Meanwhile I saw a post online about some Forte MTB brand that cost $35 and fit my size & width perfectly.

Thanks for all your tips and hints. I found some fitting Shimano ME3 at one of my local bike stores. Planning on a test ride sometime during the weekend.

Good to know. It was always difficult to find a fitting pair for the "pedi-endowed"

Always good to hear or read about great customer service from A online retailer.

I just bought A Crankset and A few other items from them for the first time this month.
The free shipping was very fast on both my orders.

thanks Joe
