My 2003 Trek Fuel 90
Hello world !
This small uneventful topic is gonna revolve around my 15 year old Fox "suspension" fork that came with this bike in may 2003. It is a 26" bicycle, so i am guessing of very little relevance these days. After two critical frame fractures on the Fuel 90 design, Trek successfully served the lifetime warranty and today i have an even more reliable Top Fuel 8 design (thankyou Trek)
The only remaining orignial part from the 1st frame is the Fox or Manitou? fork which is still pulling its weight. I don`t know how weird this (using a 15 y.o. fork) would seem for an outsider but then again that`s the current situation. I absolutely love riding this 26" full susp. Trek, but i really only ever ride it as my backup bike and mainly during the winter season with spiked tires.
I would like to know more about the fork and how it works (is it hydraulic or spring), how i can adjust it to become stiffer(can i pump air in it?), and how much more this old fork weighs than say if i replaced it with a more recent 26" susp. fork and how hard it is to find one that has the right attachments for my disc brake. I checked this black coloured fork but it doesn`t have any manufacturer ID other than a small fox sticker at the bottom. There is a knob on the top left side that says preload and an allen key screw at the bottom of the left fork. At the top of the knob it says "TPC" There is a plastic cap on the top right side and i have tried to crank it, and it seems to change something, but what? There is also a plastic cap on the bottom right i can turn to adjust the rebound i think it is called. I know very little about susp. forks, i`ve just ridden them, lol. Alright folks, tell me what i need to know

One of the top caps will screw off, opposite side of the bottom rebound knob. There is a recessed air valve once the cap is off. From there you can air it up with a bike pump.
