how do we explain the corrosion seen in bicycles used in indoor training where the sweat had bore holes into handlebars - and spectacle frams are immune to this kind of damage?. And you're recommended to have a towel or something protective over the bike.

A) I don't drip that much sweat.

B) I don't drip sweat on my glasses. They're on my face!

C) I've never bored holes in my handlebars in all the riding I've done on indoor trainers.

I wear my glasses in the shower and wash/clean them frequently. I imagine a lot of people who have had corrosion issues on their bicycles don't exactly pour water all over them or clean them anywhere near as often. If it wasn't for my lenses getting scratched up I'd easily get a good 5 years of use out of a single set.

I get sweat all over my glasses all the time from working while stuck in odd positions. I just end up cleaning them a lot because I wouldn't be able to see well otherwise.

That too ... I wash my glasses every day or every other day.

That hole looks a little too perfect -- round and neat -- to have been created by corrosion.

I have worn regular metal framed glasses for 30 years. No problems. Somehow they never even came off in high speed race crashes.
