No catergory for retro?
I think we need a thread for modern retro bikes.(Cafe Racer, Sportster, etc). Classic and Vintage forum will shun a modern retro.
I just picked up a Bianchi Milano in Celeste (turquoise) with an internal 8 speed to add to the den....

In addition to above, there are also numerous threads specifically about modern options for L'Eroica which aren't shunned, such as this: New Bianchi L"Eroica bike, it's here!

Heck, pretty soon even 10 speed cogs are reaching back to an almost vintage era???
I have often mentioned a Subforum for the 8-9-10 speed bike era. Don't have a catchy name for it.
The biggest question: would an 8/9/10 Subforum best fit in Road or C&V or General? Road would ridicule, C&V would debate ad nauseum and General, well..... maybe too Specific for General?!?
Bianchi in celeste even a Milano would fly well in C&V, esp with IGH. Try the 3 forums above and see where the replies multiply.

Infinite micro-divisions of BF Sub-forums would result in stultified Silos w/ little or no diversity or interesting conversation among members sharing an interest or viewpoint slightly different that the Silo-centric format.
That would be boring, inbred and soon dead.
Interested in having "different" viewpoint of BF?
Try C&V for a big-tent of the old/obsolescent/obsolete/period-correct/re-built/modified/new-classic-ish and the down right odd.

Ok. I will resume my posts in CV. I really thought it was a pre 1998-ish only forum. Thanks for the feedback!

BTW, that Milano is a great town bike. My mom has one, which never got ridden until my daughter borrowed it for riding to school and soccer practice.

My 2011 road ti fix gear is totally a 1980s' race bike for a fictional world where freewheels had never been invented and rear hubs were mandated to be nutted and requiring a wrench. (This never crossed my mind when I ordered the frame, but every time I get on it, the thought "yup, this is a race bike!" crosses my mind.)
The bike: an unusual mix of ti frame, steel fork, toeclips, all traditional seat, post & cockpit (well ti rails and cutout on the seat but other than that, close to what I raced 40 years ago), an interesting road dropout that allows very fast wheel flips (with clean hands) and quite conventional 32 spoke 3X wheels. (Flip-flop fix-fix in back.) For mountain rides, a custom cog wrench is strapped to the top tube. The bike has tow cockpit/brake setups: very easy to swap between them with quill stems on both. A traditional road setup with regular aero levers and sidepulls and a climbing setup with deep, wide pista bars, V-brake levers and dual-pivot calipers. The climbing setup looks wonderfully archaic racing!
So 1980s racing, but with touches from 100 years ago.
Edit: but sadly, not sewups. I hope I run into some money. 330 gram rims with 270 gram sewups would be so sweet! (And crazy descent confidence boosting!)
