I don't know what the right word is - I tend to prefer "cycling, like the OP", but I do know that at the right moment, bicycle riding is transcendental in a way that is hard to describe unless you've felt it.
Or, as I read last year,
"I asked Robin Williams why he loved riding a bicycle so much. He said it was the closest you can get to flying."

…Anyways, one description of the experience I later thought of was the flying analogy. I presume many people have flying dreams. For me I take a little running start and fly effortlessly and smoothly at a speed between walking and cycling, at about eight feet off the ground, and while in flight it seems so real to me.
When riding my high end CF on a smooth, flat to slightly downhill road, that’s the closest I get in real life.

Me. I washed it today. It's a late 90's Gios Compact Pro, which I got new. It still runs the original Record Carbon 9 speed group, and Helium wheel set. The bright blue paint has some scratches, but looks good, the chrome fork, lugs, and dropouts still shine up nice, the red anodizing on the wheels contrasts nicely against the blue paint.
I hang the bike on a rack in the living room, and it is nicer to look at than any picture or sculpture.

I never heard of Helium wheels. Are they filled with helium? Don't make me look it up.

Yep.
I keep both of my "big" bikes in my living room, and my R20 in my dining room as part of the decor lmao.

A psychiatrist could have a Field Day with this thread. Who among us has a centerfold of a bike on their wall?..... Maybe a bike-a-month calendar? Oh...how 'bout a "I Love My Bike" sticker on their vehicle?....Then there's those white oval sticker on car trunks....does YOURS say "BIKE"?
