Chain for a new cassette

I'm about to purchase a 11-28t Shimano Zee cassette (CS-5700) for my MTB and on Shimano's site under the description for a compatible chain it says;
Compatible chain - HG 10-speed

Do I have to buy a Shimano HG chain or can I use a KMC chain?

Yes I know...HG is Shimanos hyperglide so I didn't know if I had to use their specific hyperglide chain with this cassette or not.

Chains are cross-compatible, as long as they are the same "speed"

There was a period (IIRC 8-speed) when Shimano was inexplicably doing both IG and HG at the same time in the same speeds.
One of the differences was that IG & HG chains were different widths.
(IIRC the IG was narrower).
So back then it made a difference, but once 9sp came along the chain widths pretty much converged across brands.

Glad to know I can use any chain. Thank you both for your help!
