What shifts like 10sp shimano 105 chain without those annoying pins? I am thinking something like sram with a masterlink that allows easy removal of the chain. Are these chains easy to resize as well?

The quick link doesn't care what kind of chain it's on. Shorten the chain by one link, replace the removed link with whatever quick-link/master-link you prefer. My LBS carries KMC quick links, so that's what I use... on one bike, at least. I tend to buy SRAM chains lately, they're cheap and come with a master link.

Wipperman chains shift great and last the longest. KMC chains shift about the same as Shimano and cost less. Both use quick links.

I will agree that Wipperman chains last longer-- but not nearly long enough. It's a false economy. I can easily get 4,000+ miles out of a SRAM PC-1130, which costs 18 bucks. A "cheap" Wipperman is around $50, and definitely doesn't last 10k miles.
You don't need any pins at all. Just the Shimano chain of your choice, and a KMC Missing Link.

I've used Superlinks, SRAM links, and KMC links on Shimano chains.
And right now one bike has a Wippermann chain with a KMC link on it.
As long as the masterlink and the chain are both 10s, the brand of each doesn't matter.

I've had great luck with KMC quick links as well. I usually just buy KMC chains anyway which comes with one. Wal-Mart has a KMC X10SL×116 hollow pin model for $25. I also bought a 6 pack of the KMC links a while ago just in case.

are mtb chain more durable than road since it takes more beating? I don´t care about weight just durability.

Like others here, I use Quick Links. They need no special tools, make chain cleaning easy, and won't leave you stranded if you installed your Shimano link pin incorrectly, and your chain comes apart in the middle of a ride.

If you want to avoid the pins, quick-links is the way to go.
I’ve mixed link and chain brands with happy abandon for years w/o noticing anything bad from it.
If you’re simply out of 10-speed pins I’ve used 9-speed pins to join 10-speed chains w/o apparent bad things happening.
