Thumbshifters and eight speeds
I found an 8speed Shimano Acera derailure in my stash, I'm wondering if it'll work with shimano sis thumb shifters. I'm putting together a Schwinn Probe and it would be an excuse to use this 8speed wheel that I have.

They are Shimano Deore shifters.

Your shifters don't care if the derailleurs are 8sp or 9sp, or 10sp for that matter. As long as the cable pull ratio is the same it should work fine with a set of 8sp shifters.
