Seems like it would be a good bike to build. It's just missing wheels and shifters. I looked it up and it is supposed to be a 3x9 setup. I want to make this thing a light as possible street fighter, first step will be ditching the Judy for a rigid fork. Thinking about throwing bull bars on it, or just narrower bars, like off a fixie. When it's all said and done, it might be my new daily and making the high sierra mostly relegated to the trailer puller, when that's built.

Sounds cool ! I clicked on the thread hoping for a pic, so hook us up when you get 'er slapped together ! On a related note, on one of my local classifies sites, a guy (to far) up in Atlanta has a nice, older, but very clean looking cro-mo GF, that he said someone left behind at a house he moved into. He's asking something very reasonable, as well as OBO. If I was closer, I'd prolly be taking a swing !

Yeah I haven't found an easy way to post a pic with photobuckets dumbass move on hotlinking. Yeah, it's gonna be somewhere in my build list. Probably be the most.expensive build. I'm kinda focused on converting this Schwinn Link I have in to a chopper.

I wanna keep this GF as light as possible. Thinking about putting these bull bars on it, that I bought a while back in the wrong size, or some narroe fixie like bars. Just enough room for grips, shifters and levers. I need a rigid vbrake fork to replace the judy on it.

Hopefully some 1.125s or a might stagger it like a did my trek 800 sport single track that has a Kenda kwest on the front and a Kenda 838 in the rear. I really wwnt some 1.1.25's or 2.225's at the most. I like street bred mountainbikes, I call them street fighters, to borrow the motorcycle term; street tires, bigger cranks and/or smaller wheel gearing. The frame is like 6lbs, maybe 10 with the Judy on it. It's on the list. I'm thinking narrow fixie bars, maybe carbon or Ti/Al fork(still gotta survive curb hopping and step jumping), some sort of different crankset with bigger chainrings, bmx pedals, not sure on wheel choices. It'll be my third and hopefully final street fighter along with the 83 Schwinn High Sierra that's also going to tow a trailer, and the trek, which needs a complete.overhall and the horible threadless conversion handlebar stem removed.

Looking at the kaitais chainstay, it looks like it can use disc brakes.
